Although smaller, Blacks / Africans have always had the most respect for the Leopard because he is much more cunning and intelligent. And, when traditional hunters attack the Lion, they can more easily contain his attacks with a large shield to disorient him or cause him to fall to the ground while the other warriors jump on him to end his Lion life.
However, with the Leopard this task is much more difficult because it attacks in all directions and even trees. This is why Africa has always considered the Leopard to be the king of animals. And this is why the great chiefs, priests, dignitaries or great Black / African warriors wear the skin of Leopards and not of Lions. The Leopard thus remains the symbol of power in Africa / Black.
If the Lion is often regarded by the uninitiated as the King of the jungle or of the animals, it is often because of his long roar and the beauty of his mane, but even if the Lion seems to be stronger and more beautiful, the Leopard, in terms of weight or height, has much more muscle. And he is much more powerful and gifted in physical combat, in hunting, than the Lion. And the Leopard's ability to climb makes it even more formidable for arboreal prey and humans. He can chase even into the trees.
The leopard is surprisingly stronger than the lion, for example when it comes to stalking any creature, where the Lion will kill a Zebra with difficulty, the Leopard can kill several at the same time of hunting, with more ease and speed than the Lion. In fact, the Lion tends to deploy more energy due to his rage in pursuing his prey, mBut the Leopard shows restraint and conserves its energy well. This gives it a great chance to catch or kill its prey.
In addition, the Lion is a lazy hunter who is satisfied with only a limited meal, available only in the savannah, hunting mainly in packs or leaving the care to the females, but never alone; while the Leopard stores its food in trees, hunts more than 90 different animal species; and he is an excellent hunter, unlike the Lion.
This is why blacks / Africans respect and fear the Leopard much more than the Lion. It is therefore with good reason that he has always been considered the king of all animals. It is not for nothing that all great dignitaries or great warriors wear leopard skins and not lion skins. Lumumba, Mobutu and other leaders or personalities have done it and continue to do it!
